Premordial Soup or Primordial Soup?

I found this interesting article on primordial soup. Read this:

The Primordial Soup Theory suggest that life began in a pond or ocean as a result of the combination of chemicals from the atmosphere and some form of energy to make amino acids, the building blocks of proteins, which would then evolve into all the species.

The Primordial Soup Theory states that  Life began in a warm pond/ocean from a combination of chemicals that forms amino acids, which then make proteins. This is suppose to happen at least 3.8 billion to 3.55 billion years ago.

The Russian Chemist A.I. Oparin and English Geneticist J.B.S. Haldane first conceived of this idea. Both developed this theory independently in 1920.

In this theory, the basic building blocks of life came from simple molecule which formed in the atmosphere (w/o oxygen). This was then energized by lightning and the rain from the atmosphere created the "organic soup". The first organisms would have to be simple heterotrophs in order to survive by consuming other organisms for energy before means of photosynthesis. They would become autotrophs by mutation. Evidence now suggest the first organisms were autotrophs

Chemist Stanley Miller and physicist Harold Urey did a famous experiment in 1950 to test this theory. They mixed gases thought to be present on primitive earth:

	Methane (CH4)
	Ammonia (NH3)
	Water (H2O)
	Hydrogen (H2)
	No Oxygen

Happy Birthday Gregor Mendel!!!!!!!

So I have learned a lot about him in my genetics Rsearch class with Dr. Nedwidek and he is one of the most persistent and determined men in science I know. I mean he took time to cross breed plants and was patient enough to wath them grow! That takes a long, long time. But it is becase of his Law of Independent Assortment and Law od Dominance and Law of Segregation, genetics would be missing a huge important idealism. He pioneered the field of geentics as a monk who worked silently and drew beautiful diagrams of the plants. Thank you Gregor Mendel!!!! 

So I Saw The Harry Potter movie on the 16th.............................

AND IT WAS AMAZING!!!!!!
I MEAN I CRIED INSIDE, no tears came out but yeah it was all fine. I remember staring at the screen and seeing the credits and thinking about how this is the last time in my life when I will be seeing such beloved names together. But after the movie I pulled myself together cause I remembered what Dumbledore said when Harry and him were stuck in a white washed "King's Cross" station.

"Harry do not pity the dead, pity the living." I was wondering that being a true Harry Potter doesn't mean that one needs to buy all the merchandise all the time. A true Harry Potter fan will take all of the morals which they shall be deriving from each of the stories and live with those ideals. In the end J. K. Rowling didn't just write these stories for a generation to cry when it all ended. In fact we, her fans, are the continuation of Harry's story. the fact is that Harry Potter is not a fantasy to me, it is a reality. The compassion that Harry, and his bravery, and Hermione's intelligence and Neville's perseverance are all elements of humans which we see around us. Any day now a person can do something better for patients suffering from cancer. You just need to work hard enough and have enough mental strength to be able to do all of this. I must say that i am proud to be part of the Harry Potter generation. To all people out there who are suffering from depression, I shall say don't be depressed, it is a continuation of the glory that Harry created.

Babi dada you have many good qualities and I want you to always do the good things in life and never get influenced by bad things. You know it is easy to do terrible things, but it is hard to always be noble in your attempts. I have my faith that you will become an amazing doctor, because you have one thing which the universe filled with doctors should have which is an encouraging smile and attitude. You never turn people down, and always offer a helping hand. Ever since I was a baby, remember how I craned my neck because you used to stand at the foot of my crib purposefully. Well, I have always looked up to you Babi dada, and you have taken care of me so much. Remember how you used to carry me around with you after you came back from school everyday in Kolkata. I was always in your sidekick and just like Hagrid wrapped Harry in his big arms and motorcycle, you also have always been there to protect me. Remember the time I started bawling on the phone when you were in Darjeeling? The truth is I always miss you and I always want my brother at my side. Thanks for answering all my texts. Thanks for always buying whatever gifts I want. Thanks for being my buddy in mischief, my fellow cricket player.

Science is Awesome and So Is My Indian Heritage

i Went To The Harry Potter Premiere

,,,and it was awesome, I mean like Tom Felton was like four feet close to me!!! And is saw his famous blond hair, I mean I wanted to scream but no sound came out. I also got Neville (Matthew Lewis's) autograph. I really like his character too, and the actor is very kind to come out to the fans and sign our books after we waited so long in the sun. I saw the ever inspirational Emma Watson, and I started crying when I saw her, I mean she is like my role model, ever since I saw seven years old I wanted to be like her. Maybe one day, if I study hard and follow my dreams successfully, I will be able to shake hands with her and tell her ow much she inspires me to follow my dreams and be dedicated and focused. Thank you Emma! I also saw Daniel rADCLIFFE i TOOK LIKE TWENTY PICTURES OF HIM!!! I grew up seeing these people and loving the story they embody. I also saw Alan Rickman!!!!!!!! Awesome actor, seriously I want to talk to him about his acting skills!

My Feet Hurt

So yesterday was SATURDAY, MEANING DANCE CLASS!
 So yeah I was really tired after two hours of intensive dancing. Varnam is the hardest dance up till now and I am tired as soon as I finish it. So yeah now that it is Sunday I have tons of homework to finish. Oksies see ya later!

 

I Watched A Mouse Being Dissected Today!

So yeah, this is cancer research and many people go to extensive depths to do better for the research going on there in labs. I am glad to have this chance to work here, extremely satisfies. Hmmmmm me thinks I should go to the Harry Potter premiere on Monday!? Should I? There will be too many people and chances are that I will not be able to see too much, but this is a once in a lifetime chance, so yeah! Cool! TYtyTY TY

Hey all! I am one ant who has many hobbies and interests. I believe that it is important to think like an ant. You see they work hard to build communities together, and they are one intertwined community. In that same way although humans genetically differ from ant drastically, we also live in societies which have so many industries, and hospitals and schools, and and so many other things that sometimes I do wonder how beautiful this intricate web we live in is. Well, this is what civilization is and it is super cool, and I am excited to grow up and contribute to the greater good of society. I wish to pursue medicine and that is one field which is so innovative and helpful for so many lives. I can't type anymore because I have research stuff to do, so I will come back soon enough. Till then it is bye!
